LONDON —A New England-based drugmaker is launching a new drug-maker coupon program to help cut the price of prescription pain medication that treats arthritis and other medical conditions.

The U. S. drugmaker will help reduce its price by about 20 percent, or about $300 a month, to help reduce the number of patients in need who receive their drug. That’s half of the price of a common arthritis pain reliever, Celebrex, which costs $14.99 a month.

The drugmaker is also launching a new prescription drug discount card that will help reduce the cost of its most expensive pain drug, a Celebrex-approved arthritis drug. In order to help reduce the cost of that drug, the company would be able to apply for a New York City prescription discount card that would cover the entire cost of the drug, as well as a New Jersey prescription drug discount card, in addition to other discounts that the company would be able to apply with the New York City card.

“I’m very pleased to be joining the New England and the New Jersey pharmaceutical industry and the New York City drug-industry community in launching a new drug-maker program that will help reduce the cost of the drug,” said Ian Read, president and chief executive officer of the New England-based company. “We are excited about the potential benefits of this new program, particularly in the short-term.”

Celebrex, which is now called celecoxib, is one of several drugs that Pfizer is now offering to patients for pain relief and other uses. The drug is approved by the U. Food and Drug Administration to treat chronic osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis. Celebrex’s U. patent for arthritis drugs has expired. Pfizer is also launching a new program that would help patients reduce their pain.

Celebrex has a $3.85 a share of its earnings to offset a 20 percent increase in the price of its pain drug Celebrex, a company statement said.

The drug’s share price rose 7 percent last year to $1.13 per share, or $1.02 a pound, compared with $2.06 a share, the same year last year, when it was up 4 percent, according to a company statement.

The drugmaker is also offering to provide discounted copayments on its prescription drug copay cards, a program that would help the company save money on the cost of the drug. The cards would help patients save money by paying less for the drug, and other discounts.

The company also is offering to provide free next day delivery of its prescription arthritis medicine, Nexium, to all doctors and patients who take the drug for the condition. Patients can sign up for the program as needed.

The company will have the drug on its website and will offer a coupon to patients who use Nexium for the condition, the company said. Patients who have a Nexium coupon can also sign up for the program and receive free next day delivery of the drug. Patients who do not qualify for the coupon may qualify for a free alternative to Nexium.

The New York City drug-industry industry estimates that about 8 percent of U. drugmakers are offering to cut their prices. In a letter to Pfizer, the company said the company would offer to sell to consumers a drug discount card that will be used by some of its most senior pharmaceutical executives, which includes one of its most well-known executives, Steven Gellhorn. That drug company said it would not sell to patients who are not eligible for the drug.

In addition to the New York drug-industry industry, Pfizer has also been developing a similar program, a new one that would include coupons and discounts to help lower the cost of prescription arthritis drugs.

For people with arthritis, the Celebrex Celebs would be a cost-saving drug to the average American who has it. The company is also creating a New Jersey prescription drug discount card that would cover the entire cost of the drug, as well as a New Jersey prescription discount card, in addition to other discounts and offers that would also help reduce the cost of the drug. The company would also be able to apply for a New Jersey prescription drug discount card from the New Jersey drug-industry.
